Switchboard
Every shared inbox in one calm queue, with nothing lost and nobody replying twice.
The problem
A client emails accounts@ and hello@ about the same invoice. Two people reply with different answers, and a third email sits unanswered for a week.
Who it is for
Any team running shared inboxes: practices, schools, property managers, agencies, charities, venues.
What it does
- One queue for every shared address, with assignment, status and a reply-by target.
- Collision warnings when two people open the same message.
- Templates and AI drafts in the organisation's voice. A person always reads and sends.
- Client history and internal notes beside every message.
- Routing and cover rules for holidays and out of hours.
- Reporting: volumes, reply times and recurring themes.
- Links to the rest: complaints flow to Rapport, and repeat questions feed Almanac.
Why it is different
Email apps are not built for teams, and helpdesk software is priced per agent for support centres. Switchboard fits the office in between.
AI and automation
AI reads every incoming message, tags it by topic and urgency, and routes it to the right person. It summarises long threads and drafts replies using the client's history and the organisation's voice. Assignment rules, reply-by timers and holiday cover run on their own. A person sends every reply to a client.
First release
One queue for two inboxes, with assignment, notes and collision warnings.
