Almanac

The organisation's own AI, running in-house, that knows how the place works.

The problem

A new starter asks how to book leave, which template to use and who approves expenses. Meanwhile, someone else pastes a client contract into a public AI tool to summarise it.

Who it is for

Any organisation of 20 to 250 people with handbooks, policies and procedures, especially those worried about staff using public AI tools.

What it does

  • Answers from the organisation’s own documents, with the source shown for every answer.
  • Permissions respected: people only get answers from what they are allowed to see.
  • Drafting in house style, using Livery’s templates and tone of voice.
  • A new starter guide that works with Threshold.
  • A gaps report: the questions it could not answer, which shows what needs writing down.
  • Admin controls: choice of AI provider, data kept in the organisation’s own environment, logs and retention settings.
  • Questions across products: in time, ask Headroom about cash or Duly about what is overdue.

Why it is different

It gives staff a safe, owned alternative to pasting company data into public tools. It can also become the AI layer across every product in this document.

AI and automation

Almanac is the AI itself, and it hosts the shared AI layer every other product uses. In time it can take on larger tasks with approval, such as drafting this month’s board pack from Headroom and Quorum. Documents are re-read nightly so answers stay current, and the gaps report arrives weekly.

First release

Document upload, answers with sources, permissions and the gaps report.
